WHO AM I?

Hello everyone! Welcome to my Girl Scout Gold Award Project! My name is Aadhu and I will be your guide through your musical journey. I’ve been a Girl Scout since kindergarten, and I’ve played piano since 2nd grade. Over the years, I’ve grown as a musician, earning my ABRSM Grade 6 certification, learning drums, and playing regularly in my church’s worship team. Both music and Girl Scouts has shaped who I am, and it’s taught me how powerful confidence can be.

As I continued developing my skills, I noticed how many students lose motivation not because they dislike music, but because practicing alone feels confusing or overwhelming. I’ve seen so many students and peers struggle with self-doubt simply because they didn’t know how to practice effectively without a teacher right next to them. That realization made me want to support students who love music but feel stuck when practicing independently.

For my Girl Scout Gold Award project, I’m creating a website filled with clear, beginner-friendly instructional piano videos that teach students how to practice confidently outside of lessons. My goal is to address the root cause of low musical confidence, and combat the lack of accessible, reliable, and structured guidance for at-home practice. Hopefully, I can give students and teachers a resource that encourages growth, independence, and joy in music.

Thank you for being part of my journey!

Frequently Asked Questions

A Gold Award project is the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn. It is a community service project that requires identifying a real issue, researching it deeply, and designing a sustainable solution that will continue beyond the project’s timeline. In many ways, it’s a capstone experience that shows how you’ve grown as a leader, and as a member of society.

I chose this project because it aligns with both my personal goals and the needs I see in my community. I quit playing piano when I was 14 because I felt unmotivated and discouraged in my playing. I picked it up again at 16 and realized how much I genuinely love music. I would hate for someone to give up on their dreams because they hit a rough patch. Since I have quite a few years of experience, and a real passion, I figured I could use my expertise to help others.

This project is incredibly meaningful because it lets me turn my passions and values into something that creates real change. I’ve been a Girl Scout since kindergarten, so this feels like the proper way to close out 13 years of commitment and learning. It’s a moment where I get to prove to myself that I can take on something big and make it successful. Most importantly, it’s a chance to leave my community a little better than I found it, just as I’ve been taught since kindergarten.

Through this project, I’m hoping to gain stronger leadership skills and learn how to manage a long-term initiative from start to finish. I want to challenge myself to think creatively, communicate effectively, and stay organized through every step.  Overall, I want to walk away knowing I made something that lasts.
